IEB and International Recognition

In today's interconnected world, the IEB understands the importance for parents to have confidence in the quality and relevance of their children's education, both on local and global stages. It's crucial for schools to confidently affirm that the NSC is genuinely recognised internationally.

The IEB is committed to equipping South African learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to the nation's success in the global economy. Simultaneously, we aim to preserve the unique ideals and strengths of our nation within the curriculum, distinguishing us from others globally. We believe that understanding one's own country's concept of citizenship is fundamental to being a global citizen.

The NSC qualification as well as the IEB Further Studies Courses (formerly known as Advanced Programmes) are benchmarked by UK ENIC (formerly known as UK NARIC) which is operated and managed by Ecctis.

The NSC is considered comparable to GCE Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level standard, while the IEB Further Studies Courses are considered comparable to the overall GCE Advanced (A) level standard. With past learners admitted to, and excelling at, elite global universities, these Proudly South African programmes prepare learners for success both locally and internationally.
